Rainy Day Blues

Over the course of a few days, we received 8.6 inches of rain.  So what can you do with a toddler when you are stuck in the house and feeling like this....
One might suggest taking on a new perspective....like looking at the rain from the SECOND floor.
Nah!  That's no better.  Moving around is always helpful.
Reading is a good way to pass the time.
Waving random objects may be fun for some.
Oooooo, shining flashlights under dark places is quite entertaining.
And then there is the classic....making funny faces into the camera.
Happy Face!
Silly Face!
Sad Face!
Angry Face!
And my favorite....Kissy Face!
Although, the best activity to partake in is the splishing and splashing in the puddles after the rain has finished.  I wish a had pictures to show you of Charlie in his rain boots and coat, but alas, not every moment can be captured on film.  Some must simply be lived and enjoyed.

Easter Celebrations

Since this was Charlie's first time experiencing the Easter Bunny, we followed Erin and Paul's lead with having the boys set up their nests.  Charlie listened intently, before bed, to Paul explaining how the Easter Bunny may come to put treats in their baskets while they are sleeping.  Charlie didn't say a word about it before bed, but when he woke up his first words were, "Bunny come?"  I lifted a very excited boy from the crib and let him run to where the nests were set up.
His eyes got so big when he saw what awaited him!

The Easter Bunny was quite generous to both boys.
After raiding the loot, we got dressed for church.  Easter service is always one of my favorite with the joyous hymns!  Then we headed to the Hoerth's for Charlie's first ever egg hunt.  Grandma Hoerth very generously hides an egg for every great-grandchild (I think we are close to 30).   With a little help, he found his.
Then it was back to Nonna and Papa's for another, bigger, egg hunt.  We showed Charlie how to hold his basket and sent him on his way.

Soon Malcolm realized that, this year, he has competition in this hunt.
The boys took a much needed rest.

Until Malcolm realized that he could add to his stash by just reaching into Charlie's basket....
Charlie wouldn't have it!  He walked away.

Charlie did get one more chance to hunt for eggs at Barb and Duane's house.  He and Malcolm had another great time together.  After this day, they were expert egg finders.
Charlie and I had a wonderful Easter together....but we look forward to sharing it with Daddy next year.
