The Difference One Month Makes

One month ago, Charlie was only able to move around by pushing himself backwards with this arms.  Often times he would push himself backwards until he wedged himself under the couch, and was truly stuck.  Like in these pictures:

Then we went to visit Kristy and Jason in Connecticut. Here Charlie learned to pull himself forward with his arms, while giving himself an added boost by pushing off with his one big toe.
Then we went to Wisconsin and the real magic happened.  All Charlie wanted to do was stand (with help, of course).
Then he took those first supported steps.  Anyone whose hands came close to Charlie's hands, he would grab a hold of and demand a walk.  He even played his first game of tag.
And this is Charlie now:
All of this took place in One month.  One!  What a guy!

A Day at the Beach

In early June, we decided to head to the beach, even though it was a little too chilly to jump in the ocean.
Charlie was able to practice his most favorite activity....splashing!
We enjoyed the water, the sun and the sand.  Charlie was inquisitive about the sand and tried to put it in his mouth only a couple of times (but Mommy is too fast).

He really loved the feeling of his feet in the rough sand and would kick, kick, kick!
Mostly we just hung out and enjoyed the fresh air.

And then Charlie found the camera.
Nothing like a easy day at the beach to relax you.  Can't wait to get back.
