Reflections on a Car Seat Install

As we prepare for parenthood, it occurred to us that one "minor" change was actually a big deal (at least to Mike).  Below, we show the back seat of our car, just seconds before the car seat went in.  Because kids these days sit in some sort of seat until they either go to college or hit 170lbs, installing the seat sort of signals a transition.  So here it is, the last moments of an empty backseat....

(Important-sounding note: Mike actually authored this post)

Uncle and Nephew Fun!

Uncle Mike and Jake were hanging out playing with crayons when one crayon broke.  Mike pretended to push the crayon back together with all his might, but the crayon kept falling apart.

Jake thought this was HILARIOUS!!!!!

This went on most of the afternoon.  Uncle Mike knows to hold on to a good audience when he has one.

Baby Shower - Massachusetts Style

On July 24th, Grandparents Franz threw us a Baby Shower for Poppy.  It was a very hot day and we are so grateful for all who came to celebrate with us.  We were especially happy to have both of Poppy's Great Grandmothers in attendance.

Mike got some "baby playtime practice" in with Will, while the resident experts (Brian and Kevin) supervised.

Matt and Becca had the most original (and cutest) gift presentation we have ever seen.

We also had two very cute helpers (Allison and Julia) during the gift opening.

We had a great time visiting with everyone and can't wait to introduce Baby Franz to them!
