"Mums" the Word

To kick off fall, we decided to plant some mums to help brighten the fading autumn garden.  Charlie decided to supervise this undertaking while Mike did ALL the work. (What?  I was busy taking pictures.)
So here is Supervisor Chaz.

"Ah, Daddy?  Not to be bossy, but a little to the right."

"Let's see.  This looks and feels like good, rich soil."

"The blooms look strong and plentiful."

"Momma Mia, this-a reminds-a me of the garden I-a planted in-a Iiiitalyyyyy.  Perfetto!"

"Let me inspect, closer, on the other end."

"I'm very pleased with the garden.  I think yellow makes me look sunny."

The Smile File: Summer 2011

So many fun times were had this summer.  In fact, we were having so much fun, we didn't have much time to blog about it all.  So here is a new blog series I like to call The Smile File.  The pictures do not need explaining.  The smiles say it best....what a great summer!!!

Meeting Baby Chloe

In August, we took the ferry to Cliff Island.  We traveled with Grandad and we had a beautiful day!  

Matt and Becca spend time on Cliff Island every summer, but this summer they had a new addition to introduce to the Island...and us.  Her name is Chloe....and she is sweet!!!!

Mike and I took turns fawning over her. 

While we snuggled with Chloe, Charlie got to spend some quality time with Uncle Matt...

and Aunt Becca.

Unfortunately, Jake napped during most of our visit, but he woke up in time for a nice family photo. (NunaMia was working this day, so she was missed by us all.)
