Introducing.....Charles Mathison Franz

On Sunday August 22, at 1:41am, our lives had been forever changed with the birth of Charles Mathison Franz.  After 26 long hours, Charlie finally entered our lives with a short cry followed by long inquisitive looks at Mike and me.

He seemed so peaceful given the ordeal we just went through.  Charlie snuggled up on my chest, thus beginning the bonding love that puts everything into a new perspective.

The first two weeks home have flown by.  We don't know where the days have gone.  I try to set two small goals for myself a day, and sometimes never have time to get to either of them.  But for every day that flies by, we also have minutes that last an eternity because each minute is filled with new experiences and learning.

The time will come when we teach Charlie lots of new things, but for now, he is schooling us!

Even though things are hectic, we constantly are stopped in our tracks when Charlie does something remarkable...like smile.

He may have only been in our lives for 2 weeks, but we feel like he's been in our lives and hearts forever.  Charlie is our little blessing and we couldn't love him more....at least until tomorrow.
